Envoy to UN says no improvements for Russia in grain deal

UN, Apr 18 (PRIME) -- Nothing has improved in Russia’s exports under the Black Sea grain initiative, Moscow’s Permanent Representative to the U.N. Vasily Nebenzya told reporters on Tuesday.

“Nothing is moving on. Efforts are being taken, but they have borne no results for us so far in the framework of the memorandum,” he said.

“There are problems with the joint coordination center in Istanbul that should be solved and that are not in line with the agreements reached last July. I have no optimistic news about that now.”

When asked what happens after the deal expires on May 18, he said, “It is not for me to decide, but we’ve said clearly earlier that we would like to see progress in that.”
